KMK Christmas Jumper Day Raises €340 for Midlands Simon Community

   Thu, 20th Dec, 2018

KMK Metals Recycling office staff donned their most colourful Christmas jumpers and t-shirts this morning, Thursday December 20th to raise much-needed funds for the Midlands Simon Community.

Staff members enjoyed breakfast together in their festive garb, before each making a donation, which was matched by the company, raising a total of €340.

Midlands Simon Community was established to support individuals, couples and families who are experiencing or who are at risk of homelessness throughout the Midlands counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.

The organisation is dependent on fundraising in order to continue to provide essential services. Although they receive government funding, it only covers a percentage of the cost of providing services. The remaining deficit must be made up of fundraising activities, donations and corporate giving.

The value of fundraising to Midlands Simon Community is linked to their ability to provide services for those experiencing homelessness in counties Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.
